לקוחות יקרים, חבריי ושותפיי לדרך,
זהו ראש השנה הראשון שלי בגלריה ביפו מול הים, השנה החולפת הייתה עבורי שנה של התחלות מרגשות והליכה בנתיבים חדשים ומסקרנים של עשייה והתפתחות.
בפתחה של שנה חדשה, אני רוצה להודות לכם – אנשים יקרים, על היכרויות חדשות, מפגשים מרגשים ושיחות מרתקות שחלקנו יחד בגלריה אני מצפה למפגשים נוספים מלאי שמחה ועניין בשנה שתבוא ..ברצוני לשתף אתכם במספר מילים על מהות ורוח החג בתקווה להתחלות חדשות וטובות לכולנו.
ביסודו של כל חג בשנה העברית, טמון רעיון מרכזי, אותו נועד החג להעלות לתודעתנו ואשר למענו מוקדשים סמליו והלכותיו. ראש השנה העברי נחגג ב – א' תשרי. משמעות השם תשרי הוא "התחלה" באכדית. באופן פרדוקסלי, על פי היהדות, אותה "התחלה" מחייבת עצירה, עמידה במקום והתבוננות פנימה תוך עשיית חשבון נפש על המעשים והמחדלים של השנה החולפת. אנו נדרשים לקחת אחריות על מעשינו מתוך הבנה שאנו בעלי כוח שיפוט וחופש בחירה.
המהלך הנפשי והפסיכולוגי המלווה את חשבון הנפש הפנימי מאפשר שינוי תודעתי, מציף תובנות חדשות ותחושה של התעלות רוחנית – זוהי התשובה של עשרת ימי תשובה, זוהי המהות של התחלה מחדש, התחלה שיש בה התחדשות אמתית ועמוקה המלווה בהתרוממות נפש והתקדשות. נקודה בזמן בה ניתן להתחבר להוויה של ראשוניות, ליצירה ולטוב טהור.
סמליו של החג מבקשים גם הם להדגיש את הטוב שנוכח בחיינו – את השפע והמתיקות.
על פי האמונה, המאכלים שאנו אוכלים בערב החג משפיעים על גורל השנה כולה, על כן מרבים באכילת תפוח בדבש – "שתהיה שנה מתוקה", רימונים – "שנרבה זכויות כרימון", ודגים – סמל לפריון ושפע.
לאחר כעשור שבו הגעתם אלי לסטודיו, אני שמחה להזמינכם לבוא לגלריה, לקבל השראה מאווירת המקום ובסימן של התחלות חדשות – להביט קדימה אל האופק הפתוח באופטיות ובשמחה לקראת השנה החדשה.

Dear customers, associates and friends,
It is is my first Rosh Hashana in my gallery in Jaffa,
The past year has been full of exciting beginnings with new and intriguing paths.
At the start of this New Year, I want to thank you all – dear friends, for new encounters, exciting meetings and fascinating conversations we shared together in the gallery. Looking forward with Anticipation for more of that to come in the following year, I would like to share with you a few understandings about the meaning of this special holiday, May we all have good and meaningful new beginnings.
At the heart of every Jewish holiday, in the Hebrew calendar, lies a central idea, which the holiday intends to raise in our consciousness and to which its symbols and halachas are dedicated. The Hebrew New Year is celebrated on the month of Tishrei. The name Tishrei means "beginning" in Akkadian, Paradoxically, according to Judaism, that "beginning" requires stopping, holding back and reflecting on ones' deeds and omissions of the past year. We are required to take responsibility for our actions with the understanding that we have freedom of choice and hold the ability to judge ourselves.
The mental and psychological process that accompanies the inner soul account allows for a change of consciousness, inundating new insights and a sense of spiritual transcendence – it is the "Tshuva" of ten days of repentance, it is the essence of restarting, a beginning that has a profound sense of sanctification.
The symbols of the holiday seek to emphasize the good that is present in our lives – the abundance and sweetness.
The ability to internalize goodness is made possible by the desire to connect with our own goodness, with the softer parts that exists within us.
According to the belief, the foods we eat on Christmas Eve affect the fate of the whole year, so eating a lot of honey will make us – "have a sweet year" eating grenades – will help us be "full of rights like a grenade" and eating fish will put us in a better position for it is a symbol of fertility and abundance.
And as for new beginnings – after a decade of having you come to my studio each year, I am happy to invite you all to the gallery, get inspired and look towards the horizon with optimism and joy for the new year.
